NSA finds major security flaw in Windows 10, free fix issued

The US National Security Agency (NSA) has discovered a major flaw in Windows 10 that could have been used by hackers to create malicious software that looked legitimate. The internet is filled with malware that might infect your Windows 7 machine, so keep your browser updated.

Be aware that the free upgrade to Windows 10 upgrade only works for users who've installed retail versions of Windows 7 including Home, Pro, and Ultimate-sorry Enterprise users, you're out of luck.

Current estimates suggest that around 300 million devices still use Windows 7 which is a bit of a surprise, even despite appreciating that many firms are slow to update.

Users who want to protect their computers need to upgrade to Windows 10.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre warned in October that adversaries could use "unpatched security vulnerabilities" in Windows 7 to target users.

NEW YORK (AP) - If you're still using Microsoft's Windows 7, your computer might soon be at risk.

According to figures from Statcounter, Windows 7 holds a 26.8% market share of Windows installs as of the end of December versus 65.4% for Windows 10.

In order to run Windows 10, PCs must have a 1GHz processor, 16GB of hard drive space, and 1GB of RAM memory.

This is helpful when comparing shopping items from different stores like Amazon or Microsoft or collect or combine information from multiple sites for a project.

I am sure Windows 7 is doing an extraordinary job for you, but the latest version of Windows 10 has changed a lot and offers more features and security.

ESU aside, Microsoft also has the Windows Virtual Desktop Program, which allows businesses to continue using Windows 7 with free extended security updates until January 2023.

Once the installation is complete, go to Settings Update & Security Activation and you should be on your way as there's no requirement to enter a Windows 10 product key. Microsoft has already issued a security update to the OSes.

At the time of writing, online browsing activity tracker StatCounter indicates that almost 27 per cent of all Windows users it tracks are Windows 7 users.
