While we don't know which development team leaked the latest photos of the PS5 prototype console, it's likely only a matter of time until Sony puts two and two together and figures it out for themselves.
As shared by prominent internet newshound AllGamesDelta on Twitter, the photo reportedly comes from an anonymous developer, and shows the next-gen console's devkit (the same one which Sony has confirmed as genuine) in all its V-shaped glory. There is usually one package for each system that seems to be the most popular, and this year it will probably be the Only On Playstation package, which includes the Playstation 4 (1 TB), a DUALSHOCK wireless controller.
Tom Warren, a senior editor from The Verge, replied to Drunk Cat's tweet on Twitter. This is kind of a shame as the V-shape of the dev kit and its tie-in with the Roman numeral for 5 is neat and certainly different.
Some users still expressed concern that the PS5 might run especially loud if Sony keeps this fan design, while others are anxious about potential heat issues if the system requires that sort of extensive air cooling system. They claim that the kits have been out for a while, but doesn't further elaborate. Typically, dev kits look nothing like their equivalent launch products. They rarely, if ever, match with what the console will end up looking once it enters retails. The PlayStation 5 is expected to release publically on Christmas, 2020.
