Authorities say a woman has been charged with attempted homicide in a stabbing in Pittsburgh that critically injured ex-Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who also faces a charge. Police say Pryor arrived at the hospital in critical condition by private means just after 4:30 a.m. ET. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Pryor has since been upgraded to stable condition.
Pryor, 30, reportedly was stabbed in the shoulder and chest sometime overnight at his apartment in the Heinz Lofts complex. He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars before being released earlier this season and has not appeared in an National Football League game this season.
The Jeannette, Pennsylvania native recorded 1,049 receiving yards for four touchdowns in his two seasons with the Browns.
A third-round pick by Oakland in 2011, Pryor never stuck as a quarterback and switched to wide receiver. He has since dealt with injuries while playing for Washington, Buffalo and the Jets.
He is now a free agent. Want more? Subscribe to Football Insider for exclusive Browns content, including daily texts from Mary Kay Cabot.
