‘Tottenham fans don’t love me, but they accept me’, admits new Spurs’ manager Jose Mourinho

Mauricio Pochettino: Ex-Spurs boss urged to reject Arsenal job following Emery's sacking

The Argentine has spent some time back in his homeland following Spurs' decision two weeks ago, but now he is eyeing a fresh challenge.

Former Arsenal player Freddie Ljungberg was appointed first team interim head coach but the Premier League giants are looking into another direction for a top coach, with Pochettino in the frame to take over.

As per the aforementioned report from the Manchester Evening News, though, Pochettino himself has his sights set on another club.

He revealed earlier this season that he would only leave Tottenham at the end of his contract in 2021, having been linked with a move away over the summer transfer window.

Arsenal have failed to record a magical resurgence since the 48-year-old manager assumed Emirates Stadium mantle in a deal that ended Arsene Wenger's lately inglorious reign.

"This is my decision".

Among those is United, who have targeted Pochettino before.

"I would like to thank [owner] Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy for giving me the opportunity to be part of Tottenham Hotspur's history", said Pochettino.

Pochettino had been manager of Tottenham since 2014, and after a five-and-a-half year spell in charge, he is making the most of an extended rest.

"The fans love the club", Mourinho was quoted as saying by the BBC. There were equally tough challenges as exciting success.

He was quickly replaced by Jose Mourinho, who has won all three of his games in charge so far, while Pochettino has returned to his native Argentina to unwind.

Speaking to Fox Sports Argentina On a visit to his old club Newell & # 39; s Old Boys, he said: "There are many attractive clubs and projects for me".

"For the time being the most important thing is for me to clear my head after five-and-a-half incredible seasons with Tottenham", Pochettino added. "My goal is to look for the ability to rebuild and recover my self-motivation".
