Jay-Z marks 50th birthday by adding his music on to Spotify

The rapper's streaming service, Tidal, will run a special video stream of all things Jay-Z, including interviews, performances, and music videos today as well. That would be in reference to the rapper and mogul's musical catalog, which finally returns to Spotify after nearly a three-year hiatus.

Previously, most of Jay-Z's catalog would be found on Tidal, a streaming service that the rap icon owns.

Jay Z has returned to Spotify for his 50th birthday.

"Happy birthday, Hov. Welcome back to Spotify", read Spotify's Twitter message along with a clip honoring the MC's music.

Anyway, you might as well start at the beginning...

It means that the platform experiences Jay-Z's critically acclaimed 2017 album 4:44 for the very first time. Since then, the only JAY works fans were able to stream outside of TIDAL were Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1, Vol. 2...

In the next month, fans will also be able to listen to the entire catalog of the late Aaliyah in most of the music streaming platforms just in time for her birthday, which falls on January 16.

Jay-Z performs onstage during the Meadows Music And Arts Festival on September 15, 2017 in New York City. Hard Knock Life, The Blueprint 3, Watch the Throne, The Black Album, and more.
