During his appeal hearing with the National Football League regarding his indefinite suspension, Garrett accused Rudolph of using a racial slur during their fight.
It was reported Thursday that Garrett alleged during his appeal hearing that Rudolph used a slur just prior to the fight at the end of the Browns' Week 10 win over the Steelers. Through two quarters and a series in the third, Rudolph went 8 for 16 for 85 yards and an interception, looking flustered and missing passes throughout.

"Just felt like our offense needed a spark", head coach Mike Tomlin said, explaining the decision to turn to backup Devlin "Duck" Hodges.
In the process, the team went to rookie passer Ryan Finley.
"He didn't kill us", Tomlin said in mid-October when assessing Hodges' first start, "and that's what you need from young quarterbacks". Mason Rudolph struggled and Tomlin had little choice but to make the change.
