Ukraine's former president, Petro Poroshenko, said he had conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump's personal lawyer two years ago, but Rudy Giuliani "definitely did not" raise the possibility of investigating former vice-president Joe Biden's son.
The subpoena requests that the recipient provide "all documents, including correspondence, with or related to Rudolph Giuliani, Giuliani Partners or any related person or entity", referring to his consulting company. Two of Giuliani's associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, were charged in October in a campaign finance scheme. Parnas is now cooperating with impeachment investigators and appears to be willing to talk about anything. Both the Ukrainian oligarchs are facing indictment.
"I expected, the moment I heard Biden's name, I told my colleagues, they're going to try to kill me", he said, noting that since the "mafia" was not able take him down, the media would not be able either. After witnessing the ongoing incidences Kolomoisky reported a warning of the biggest scandal of all times which will break in not just Ukraine but also in the United States.
Giuliani was mentioning the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), a federal law aimed at prosecuting organized crime, which may imply he still has information that has not been released publicly from his days as a US attorney, according to Bloomberg. The upshot is that Giuliani was promising intervention at the Justice Department to help with Firtash's legal issues if the oligarch funded the hunt for dirt on Biden.
Parnas' associate, Fruman, has not cooperated with the committee. But Parnas changed his mind earlier this month, in part because Trump acted like he didn't know the two men.
ABC News reported Sunday that Parnas had submitted the materials to the panel in response to a congressional subpoena, though some of the information requested by lawmakers is in the hands of federal investigators in NY. Now, new documents obtained by American Oversight show that Pompeo and Giuliani were communicating with one another as far back as March. She was sacked in May.
Parnas and Fruman donated $325,000 to a Super PAC supporting Trump, and Parnas attended Trump's invite-only New York City election night event in 2016 - another link between the foreign-born businessman and the president.
"This is completely insane ... We would like them to fully comply with those subpoenas", House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff told CNN Sunday, with a committee spokesperson adding they would not elaborate beyond the chairman's comments. "It was the first time in my experience when two private actors were offering or discussing the issues that are supposed to be part of USA foreign policy".
