By netting against Leverkusen, he also equalled Raul's record of scoring against 33 different Champions League opponents.

To top it off, the win was Ronaldo's 102nd in the Champions League - making him the most successful player in the history of the European competition.

Though he is still firing on all cylinders, Ronaldo dropped a hint about his retirement plans after the win against Leverkusen.

Gonzalo Higuain says his primary aim at Juventus this season is to prove he belongs at the club after two hard loan spells away from Turin. "If I am on the bench, then I have to take the balance of the side into consideration", he told Sky Sport Italia in quotes translated by Football Italia.

"We had a great match against a team who like to have possession and are not easy to deal with", said Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri.

Meanwhile, Juventus are now topping Group D in the 2019/20 Champions League with four points after two games.

Juventus are back in action on Sunday with a huge early-season league match against Inter at San Siro.

Manchester United have only won two of their opening seven Premier League games so far this season in what has been a stuttering start to the new campaign.
