A company owned by the Lakers star, LBJ Trademarks, LLC, filed a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on August 15, according to USA Today. According to the trademark application, James wants to trademark the phrase for "advertising and marketing services" through "indirect methods" that include social media and blogging.
LeBron James has been taking to social media to post videos of his "Taco Tuesday" celebration that he has with his family along with other special guests.
A source told ESPN's Brian Windhorst that James' team has no firm plans for the term but wants to keep all business opportunities open.
Now, according to a report from Darren Rovell, LeBron has filed to trademark the phrase "Taco Tuesday" for social media posts as well as a future show based on that name. A search of the USPTO website yields 29 results, many of them no longer active.
