The Somali-born congresswoman, who immigrated to the U.S.in 1992, took to Twitter to respond to Carlson's inflammatory comments late Tuesday night, writing: "No lies will stamp out my love for this country or my resolve to make our union more ideal".

The lengthy segment comes just one day after Carlson said that Omar, a Somali-American and one of the first Muslin women in Congress, "is living proof that the way we practice immigration has become risky in this country". It's our cultural gatekeepers who stoke the resentment of new arrivals and turn them into grievance mongers like Ilhan Omar.

He added: "But she isn't grateful, not at all".

Omar told the 400 teenagers that the incident transpired five years ago when she was serving as a city councilwoman in Minneapolis. "Tucker will address this on tonight's show". But immigrants have got to like us back.

Ilhan Omar admitted she wasn't entirely truthful when she told high school students a story that was meant to exhibit the economic disparities black people in America face.

"So be grateful for Ilhan Omar, annoying as she is", Carlson continued. "She scolded us, called us names, showered us with contempt". She has said that American Jews control Congress and that Jews have dual loyalty. Omar lies shamelessly for more reasons than one, but the Post showed her lying shamelessly to disparage the United States.

Omar is part of a progressive group of freshmen representatives, which includes fellow congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tliab and Ayanna Pressley.

Last month, Omar tweeted that on average 500 people are killed from gun violence each day in the United States as she tried to push a bill on background checks for firearm sales. "Shut us up, silence us".

This week, Carlson attacked Omar by saying that she hates America, the country that welcomed her and her family from Somali when she was a child. "African American lady" who had to spend a weekend in jail after stealing a $2 loaf of bread to feed her "starving 5-year-old granddaughter". The left did that to her, and to us.

Along with documenting her illegal filing of tax returns with a man who was not her legal husband, the new documents obtained by the Star Tribune reveal the Omar campaign's efforts in 2018 to keep the story of her marriage to Elmi out of the media. Carlson did not mention the travel ban but appeared to connect Omar's origin to an immigration policy prescription.

"The left went berserk; they hate it when you say the true things", Carlson said. The irony there is that if she wasn't a member of Congress, she'd be a member of the KKK. "Omar has made a career by denouncing anyone or anything in her way as racist, that would include virtually all of her political and personal opponents". That's racist. So was the United States Congress.
