Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slams Ivanka Trump for interactions with foreign leaders

The video, shared by BBC journalist Parham Ghobadi, has been retweeted more than 20,000 times and viewed more than 15 million with many questioning why Ms Trump was there.

Without context of the conversation before the clip started, viewers can't know if this is a reasonable statement from Trump or not - but the reactions of the world leaders answer that. The rest of the group avoids eye-contact with her.

When she emerged, a reporter asked her how it was to visit North Korea. The list included Megan Rapinoe's goal celebration, the meeting of Richard Nixon and Elvis Presley, Beyonce's Coachella performance and Marie Curie's lab. So of course, the internet responded. with mock-ups of her with a microphone at the Yalta Conference in 1945, grinning unashamedly while on stage with Martin Luther King, throwing a ball in front of Colin Kaepernik as he kneels for the National Anthem, and kissing a Starbucks cup while next to Malala Yousafzai.

International Monetary Fund director Christine Lagard doesn't seem impressed as Ivanka Trump offers her opinion on something.

Ivanka Trump's performance at a G20 summit has been slammed as evidence why the USA president's daughter shouldn't hold a U.S. diplomatic position. She's an Advisor to the President, yes, but she's best known as a businesswoman and reality TV personality, not as a world leader or an economist.

"The US needs our president working the G20", she added. In a similar vein, Swalwell tweeted, "The American people deserve to be represented by a qualified diplomat ... not the President's daughter".

Trump has been criticised before for appearing to stand in for her father at global summits, for example during a discussion on health and migration in Africa at the 2017 G20 in Hamburg.

Ivanka Trump tries to interject, stating either "it's on", or "it's all". At one point, she interrupted to say that the defence industry has been "very male-dominated", as the entire group continued to ignore her. US President Donald Trump, center right, also attends. Naturally, someone on Twitter suggested photoshopping "Ivanka the unwelcome interloper" intruding on other occasions where she famously does not belong, and hence the #UnwelcomeIvanka meme was born.

The four can be seen actively taking part in a lively discussion during a break and seem to snub her while Ivanka is trying to offer her opinions.
