NBA NBA suspends Raptors’ Serge Ibaka three games By Vincent Frank

Serge Ibaka and Marquese Chriss traded blows on the court as the National Basketball Association clash between Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers descended into chaos on Monday night.

Both players had been battling all night long and tempers finally boiled over after both players went for the ball in the third quarter. Ibaka fell and shoved Chriss upon getting up, which led to punches being thrown by both players.

A Raptors officials said after the game that Ibaka was, indeed, reacting to something Chriss said, but the Toronto veteran is likely to receive a lengthy suspension.

With just one second remaining in the period and the Wine & Gold up two touchdowns - 91-77 - Toronto's Norman Powell threw a full-court pass to Serge Ibaka, waiting deep in the forecourt. According to four Cavs sources and one with the Raptors - none of them named Chriss or Ibaka - Chriss said something very close to "quit that shit".

It's worth noting that seven of the Raptors' 20 turnovers against the Cavs were offensive fouls, a note on the tenacity and hustle with which the host team played.

Ibaka's Raptors team-mate Kawhi Leonard spokes about the incident after the game but claimed he didn't get a good view of the skirmish. Chriss appeared to say something as Ibaka got up.

Cavaliers: Cleveland is 5-4 since the All-Star break.

He is averaging 15.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season. The Washington product has averaged 7.9 points per game in three National Basketball Association seasons.

Cavaliers coach Larry Drew said he was not surprised the players were ejected. G Matthew Dellavedova (concussion) missed his second straight game.

"We certainly don't want that in the game". I really didn't get to see it until the final five seconds'.
