The U.S. Attorney's Office in MA released a statement yesterday regarding the scandal.
Huffman has been charged with paying $15,000 to participate in an exam cheating scam.
When a caller inquired about her thoughts regarding the scandal, she admitted to knowing numerous families involved but found the entire scandal "really shocking". Because of this, she and her husband have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.
"Full House" was a common reference for people making fun of Loughlin, with one user joking that she was headed to the 'Big House'. Since there is a school involved, the joke is that Lori Loughlin's real-life scam was just Aunt Becky's way of "taking the fall" for Jesse.
Their kid speaks in full sentences, knows his ABCs and has been enrolled in a prestigious preschool. During their interview at Bouton Hall, Becky caves, telling the admissions officer that they "may have embellished - lied - a bit on [their] application".
"In the episode, Jesse claims to be a diplomat and alleges that sons Nicky and Alex have skills including speaking multiple languages and playing musical instruments - despite their being just toddlers", according to Fox News.
The tie between the two stories gets even eerier as Jesse stresses the importance of the twins education and how it doesn't matter if he and Becky break the rules to get their children a good education.
"I gotta say I think something like this could really hurt Hollywood's reputation", The Late Late Show's James Corden joked, but he, too, had another Aunt Becky gag to add to the pile.
The difference between real life and the family friendly sitcom is that at the end of the 30-minute episode, Jesse and Becky learned their lesson and came clean about lying on the application.
Coincidentally, Jimmy Kimmel's guest on Tuesday was none other than Loughlin's Fuller House costar Bob Saget, who was on to promote new ABC clip show Videos After Dark. The actress was away filming in Vancouver.
Giannulli, who appeared in court Tuesday afternoon, was released on a $1 million bond and had to surrender his passport, restricting his travel to the continental U.S. The judge did mention the fashion designer's "wife" as his co-defendant and noted that he would allow her to travel only to Canada to continue working.
