Big night for Towns as T'wolves rip Thunder

Paul George to be game-time decision Tuesday vs. Timberwolves

Paul George to be game-time decision Tuesday vs. Timberwolves

Towns dominated in a variety of ways Tuesday, he was solid from the field - going 15 of 27, he hit three of his five threes and he delivered some vicious dunks.

The Thunder shot 18-of-31 from the line Tuesday.

In a last minute pre-game decision it was announced OKC Thunder star Paul George will return to the lineup in his regular starting spot.

Back in December, Wiggins scored 30 points on 11-of-20 shooting and pitched in six rebounds and five assists. In his past four games he's averaging 35.3 points and 16.5 rebounds. Dario Saric had 10 points and seven rebounds, and while Josh Okogie had just six points and four rebounds, he was a team-best +20. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on Fox Sports North and 830 WCCO.

If the Wolves are to make a last-ditch, desperate run at the playoffs, they'll need Wiggins to come to the party.

Karl-Anthony Towns has been insane lately. He is now putting up 28.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from deep. It's been nothing short of remarkable, yet the Wolves have gone just 3-7 in the 10 games in which he's played.

George is one of the favorites to win the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards. That means that the Wolves will get a whole lot of Russell Westbrook in this one.

But he exploded for 12 in the final frame and carried the Thunder to a win, halting a worrying losing streak. Towns narrowly outscored Westbrook, who finished with a 38-point performance on the night.

After picking up two fouls early in the first quarter, Towns got hot in the second.
