Wells Fargo suffers widespread outage of ATMs, mobile banking capabilities

An hour later the company posted about the problem again, but offered no timetable on when it would be fixed.

The system outage is the second time this month that people have been unable to effectively use their services.

Wells Fargo customers were tweeting about the issues they were experiencing and some were saying that they could not gain access to their money through ATMs and that their debit cards weren't working either. "We apologize for the inconvenience", it said.

'We apologize to our customers who may be experiencing an issue with our online banking and mobile app, ' Wells Fargo tweeted initially.

Some customers also reported the issue was impacting credit cards.

A customer service representative reportedly said it is a nationwide outage. The bank has been fined more than a billion dollars for its customer service failures.

The company said customers should check Wells Fargo social media for updates on the outage.

'Thank goodness I don't need money this morning for anything!' one Twitter user quipped. There are some rumors Wells Fargo's servers may be offline until Friday.

As Business Insider points out, it's been less than a week since Wells Fargo's last technical difficulties.
