It was reported on Wednesday that Detroit traded Johnson to Milwaukee for Thon Maker, but neither team ever formally announced the deal - despite the news making the rounds on Twitter.
Mirotic could help bolster a Bucks second unit, as well as potential helping the starting unit. Milwaukee will snag the valuable stretch-4 for New Orleans, the Pistons will still receive Maker. He shoots at a high percentage from beyond the arc, rebounds and defends at his position and provides depth to our frontcourt.
This season, Mirotic is averaging 16.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists for New Orleans.
Mirotic has, however, missed 21 games this season due to injury. The Montenegro native has averaged at least 10.0 points per game in each of his five seasons and earned All-Rookie honors following his rookie season in 2014-15.
Both Smith and Johnson came to Milwaukee in earlier trades.
Smith is now averaging 3.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game for the Bucks, while Johnson is averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He played in six games for the Bucks this year, totaling 13 points.
