"Liverpool are the favourites", Kimmich told reporters ahead of the first leg in Anfield.
"All the defenders have played so when one comes in and one leaves, we don't feel that loss because we're all used to each other", the goalkeeper said, per the Liverpool Echo. They have also been unbeaten at home in the league and Champions League this season.
"He gives confidence to the players and makes many other players play better".
Fabinho has experience playing at centre-back; he was superb alongside Van Dijk in the 1-0 victory against Brighton last month.
The Liverpool boss revealed that Dejan Lovren would be tested at Melwood once the squad return back from their warm-weather training at Marbella but now it looks like the central defender will not be joining the rest of the squad.
"Of course over the years I have watched a lot of Bayern games and this season as well", said Klopp.
"They had a little dip form-wise in the league when Dortmund played outstanding football, so that's why there was a gap...[but] becoming seventh-time-in-a-row champions is possible".
The Croatian could be named on the bench given Liverpool's defensive problems, though.
Lynchpin Virgil van Dijk is suspended for tomorrow's Champions League clash and youngster Joe Gomez is still recovering from surgery on a broken leg.
So with Gomez and Van Dijk out of the picture if Dejan Lovren can not make himself fit then Klopp might just have to push a midfielder into central defence in order to partner Joel Matip.
