Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has continued with his engagements in Kogi State after escaping unhurt in a helicopter incident at Kabba on Saturday afternoon.

Reports reaching Asembi.com indicate that Helicopter carrying the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has crashed.

The Vice-President's Spokesman Laolu Akande said he was continuing his engagements in Kogi state.

"We are safe and sound!"

The party, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it thanked God for the safety of the vice president and members of his entourage and the crew. Osinbajo tweeted, saying the crew managed the situation well.

The PDP urged all Nigerians irrespective of creed, ethnicity and political affiliation, to continue to pray for God's continued intervention in our national life.

Daily Trust learnt that the helicopter crash landed at about 1.30 pm while trying to make a landing at the Kabba Stadium.

The near mishap occurred after Osinbajo had attended the graduation ceremony of senior division course 1/2018 participants at the customs college.

His strategy, analysts said, is important to the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
