Renowned soccer manager Jose Mourinho was in Russian Federation on Monday to check out a KHL hockey game between SKA St. Petersburg and Avangard Omsk.

Organisers rolled out the red carpet for the former Manchester United boss, who was invited to drop the puck at the start of the game between SKA vs Avangard.

Turning his back on the play, the light goes out and it appears that is that from Mourinho's involvement.

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho embarrassingly slipped after presenting a symbolic face-off to a match in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) on Monday.

Jose Mourinho has been filmed doing a promotional work for a Siberian ice hockey team in Balashikha, which is a town near Moscow.

The misfortune just seems to be stacking up for Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese manager to struggle in the wake of losing one of the most prestigious managerial jobs in world football.

Videos of the 56-year-old boss falling on a red carpet on the ice rink in Balashikha appeared on social media after the accident.

United have not lost since Mourinho's dismissal, with caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer overseeing nine wins and draw once over that 10-game span. He might give stepping onto the ice a miss when asked next time, though.
