Did Hamidou Diallo Just Bring Back the Dunk Contest?

NBA All-Star Weekend is now in effect, and last night's Dunk Contest found many contestants trying to out-do last year's dunks.

"Shaquille O'Neal, one of the league's giants of yesteryear (who happens to be 7' 1"), stood right in the lane and the 20-year-old pro baller drove to the basket, leapt over O'Neal and stuffed the ball.

But Dennis Smith Jr.'s second dunk of the night had a bit of special local flair.

"I was a little nervous", Diallo confessed.

Harris posted a score of 25 in the first round and 26 in the final round to upset Curry in the finals.

There were 10 players in the event, and seven were eliminated in the opening round.

Stephen Curry won the first round with 27 points out of a possible of 34.

All four of the contestants are young, creative, extremely athletic and have already proved they can give us some insane highlights, so get ready for a really good night of dunks. The participants with the two highest scores will advance to the championship round, where they'll once again get two dunks. I didn't want to give Trae a chance.

Denver Nuggets forward Nikola Jokic lost to Tatum in the semi-finals.

Tatum says the trophy will go to his mother's home. Young sprinted ahead of Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic in the other semi.

The Nets have produced two All-Star Saturday winners in their history, with Jason Kidd winning the Skills Challenge in 2003 and Spencer Dinwiddie taking down the win in the 2018 Skills Challenge.
