A woman spent the weekend trapped in an elevator in her employers' home in NY, according to police.
Outside the building where a woman was said to be trapped in an elevator since Friday.
Police identified the woman as Marites Fortaleza, a housekeeper at the location.
The woman is a housecleaning employee who was working while the homeowners were out of town, according to WABC-TV. Residents of the townhouse arrived there Monday morning, discovered the trapped worker and called 911.
The woman reportedly told the FDNY that they had been stuck there since Friday.
They returned home from a weekend away at 10am on Monday morning and realized she was trapped.
The townhouse is listed as having two violations for failing to maintain its elevator, one in 1996 and most recently in 2008, as reported by the New York Post. He did not immediately respond to a message left with Stephens Inc., his investment bank based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Officials from New York City's Department of Buildings were at the scene to investigate the faulty elevator.
