Williamson helps No. 2 Duke rout Notre Dame

Zion Williamson flew unimpeded again. For Mike Krzyzewski, there's no need to even think about grounding him.

Williamson said he doesn't get to watch a lot of NBA games due to his rigorous schedule, but he does follow along with NBA Twitter.

"The kid's like one of the best kids in the whole world", Krzyzewski said.

Junior guard Kyle Guy got going later in the half. I'm proud of what we've been doing, but tonight wasn't good enough.

After No. 2 Duke beat Notre Dame 83-61 on Monday, Williamson flashed a smile when a reporter asked him if he pays attention to what some of the Bulls fans say about tanking and wanting him. When Williamson made one of two free throws with 2:12 left until halftime, the Blue Devils were back in control with a 42-25 lead. The Cavaliers (18-1, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) earned their second straight victory since a 72-70 loss at Duke on January 19. Reddish had 13 points.

John Mooney is averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game-but the team really misses Rex Pflueger who will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL that occurred in December. Diakite also had 10 points and seven rebounds - his second consecutive game in double figures. But, the game out of the under-12 timeout getting buckets from Jones, Williamson and Barrett all in the paint to go back up 18 points with 9:30 left.

Just two days earlier against Georgia Tech, despite having its four freshman starters together for the first time in two weeks, Duke hit just 2 of 21 3-pointers and trailed by eight points in the second half before rallying to a 66-53 win.

"That's men vs. boys, flat-out", Brey said. "Let's see if that can be a better habit for us". We couldn't get into any offensive rhythm, and it affected us defensively and it affected our fight, which was disappointing.

She had 26 points, five rebounds and two assists in the Tar Heels' victory at Blacksburg, Virginia, on Thursday. Notre Dame's season is on the brink.

The second-ranked Blue Devils have not looked themselves lately.

Duke: The Blue Devils moved into sole possession of the lead in the hotly contested ACC for the moment by virtue of their seventh league win. Duke still has road assignments remaining against each of those other three clubs, plus a home date with the Tar Heels.

Notre Dame is 71st in the KenPom ratings (73rd AdjO, 103rd AdjD) and 79th in the NET. ND has made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances and five in the NIT under Brey.
