Stranger Things 3 premieres on Netflix on the Fourth of July 2019

Stranger Things Season 2

Netflix Announces ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 Premiere Date (Watch)

Netflix released a teaser on New Year's Day that stayed with the theme of the day in mind. It's fit with crackling audio and VHS tape lines, and includes footage from Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in the moments leading up to the "big apple" dropping to usher in 1985.

The world may have just rang in 2019, but Netflix subscribers will be traveling back to 1985 when Stranger Things Season 3 premieres in July. The tagline reads, "One summer can change everything", which sounds like a totally cliche '80s movie line-something that is very appropriate for the series.

Good news, Stranger Things fans: we've finally got a release date for the show's third season.

"Run Program: SilverCatFeeds.exe" was typed into the system, and the picture switched back to the live apple drop with the final few seconds of the countdown, only the picture began to rotate.

Netflix sensation Stranger Things will return to the streaming platform this winter.

We also know Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), Maya Hawke (daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) and Jake Busey will join the cast and Hawkins' shopping centre will play a pivotal role in the story.

Series regulars Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) are all there.

After two years of occupying the Halloween scene, it looks like Stranger Things is ready to lay claim to another holiday season entirely.
