The most-capped Czech Republic international's roll of honour includes four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups triumphs, one Champions League crown, a Europa League winners medal and four FA Community Shield victories.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused to take credit in the success story of the retiring strike Petr Cech, although he is the first one who gave the big break to the goalkeeper during his time with the Blues way back in 2004.

"Having played 15 years in the Premier League and won every single trophy possible, I feel like I have achieved everything I set out to achieve".

Petr Cech will end his playing career after this season with the Premier League's record for clean sheets under his belt.

Cech is often considered to be one of the best keepers in the Premier League.

Cech has his A licence coaching qualification and, should he choose to pursue a coaching career, would be welcomed back by Chelsea, Press Association Sport understands.

According to The Times Chelsea have declared an interest in offering their former gloveman a role at the club following the news of his retirement. He further stated that he would be aiming for one more trophy for Arsenal by the end of the season before looking forward to what life has to offer "off the pitch".

He kept an astonishing 24 clean sheets in his first season in England - a Premier League record and three more than the next best (Edwin van der Sar in 2008-09). In the process, he broke the previous record held by Peter Bonetti.

He has played 110 times for the Gunners to date, but has struggled to live up to his high standards under Unai Emery this season and has lost his place to summer signing Bernd Leno.

Cech again saved a penalty, this time for Arsenal, as they beat Watford 3-0 in 2017-18, in what was Cech's 200th clean sheet in the Premier League.

Hunt's knee crashed into Cech's head leaving him with a fractured skull, but he returned to action four months later wearing what became his trademark protective headgear.

While the Blues were prepared to allow Cech to join the Gunners, they do not wish him, or other players of his generation, to stay away.
