After scary fall last night, Oklahoma City Thunder center Nerlens Noel has been diagnosed with a concussion - and tests showed he avoided any fractures, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium.
Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Andrew Wiggins went off by scoring 40 points in Minnesota's two-point road win. Wiggins' elbow hit Noel as he was attempting to dunk on him and the blow caused Noel's head to smack the ground head first.
Coaches and players quickly gathered around the 24-year-old, whose eyes remained closed, while a stretcher was brought out to him. I think he fell wrong but I didn't really see until I saw him on the ground. After a review, no additional fouls were called. Hopeflly he's good. I hope nothing but the best for him.
Except, between Wiggins telling reporters, "I don't know what's wrong with him", and, "He was acting insane for no reason", video of the exchange appeared to show him say of Schroder, "He was just gay". "I hope he gets healthy soon and comes back stronger".
Wiggins scored a game-high 40 points with 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal. He knocked down a pull-up mid-range jumper to give Minnesota a 114-113 lead and then came up with a huge block on a Paul George 3-point attempt to keep it.
Josh Okogie's corner 3-pointer with 26.8 seconds left put the Timberwolves up 119-115.
Thunder: G Alex Abrines missed his fifth consecutive game for personal reasons. Wiggins was 16 of 18 from the free throw line. He's not someone I look at as a problem. I said: "I don't know what's wrong with him he was just getting... acting insane for no reason", he said on Twitter.
Oklahoma's next game is against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday (Friday NZT).
