The long-running CBS crime procedural will be saying goodbye during the 2019-20 broadcast season with a 10-episode 15th and final season, which will reportedly have a more serialized feel than fans may be used to as the show wraps up the characters' stories.
"Hey, #CriminalMinds fans - we've got big news". We already know that a wedding features on the Season 14 finale.
"Criminal Minds" will end after Season 15, which will begin production immediately after Season 14. "We are so proud to have aired it", said CBS' EVP of current programs, Amy Reisenbach. "It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television".
Criminal Minds airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. It has been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC [Studios]'.
Criminal Minds is a procedural show that follows behavioural profilers who work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as members of its Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).
"It's really bittersweet, but I'm so, so grateful to CBS for giving us this heads-up", showrunner Erica Messer told TVLine about the final season news.
Perhaps someday I'll find time to watch all the seasons I've missed. Some memorable villains from past seasons could also make an appearance, as could fan-favorite characters who've left the show, like Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore).
It seems that perhaps the trouble that has brewed behind the scenes of Criminal Minds may also have something to do with the series' impending end.
