Clemson won 44-16, the largest margin of victory in a college football championship game since Alabama beat Notre Dame by 28 in the 2012 BCS title game.

Tua Tagovailoa passed for 295 yards and two TD's but was intercepted twice, including a pick-six. First 15-0 team, to beat Notre Dame and to beat Alabama to do it, this team won 13 games by 20 points or more and led by an unbelievable group of seniors, fantastic group. The 2016 national championship game between Alabama and Clemson that was decided on a last-second touchdown drew 25.3 million viewers. Coach Dabo Swinney took to the podium immediately after the win and said he'll soak it all up now, but he'll get back to film Friday and start preparing for next season.

Clemson rolled to a 44-16 win over the Crimson Tide and, to be honest, the Tigers could've put another score or maybe two on the board if they wanted to.

The Tigers head coach was obviously thrilled during his postgame interview, after his football team captured a second championship in three seasons, and a second time as the underdog, TigerNet noted. It was also just the seventh interception and second interception returned for a touchdown in Tagovailoa's career.

The Tigers finished No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll with Alabama No. 2, Ohio State third and Georgia fourth. "I don't measure teams by that, and I know we've got some rabid people that that drives them insane, but I measure our team based on did we get better, did we reach our potential".
