According to Kimberly-Clark, it has received reports from consumers that the tampons have unraveled or come apart upon removal.

Some women claimed they were forced to seek medical attention to remove the tampon pieces from their body.

The recall affects the regular absorbency U by Kotex Sleek Tampons that are sold across the USA and Canada, with a manufactured date between October 7, 2016 and October 16, 2018.

No other U by Kotex-branded products are being recalled.

Anyone with the affected should stop using them immediately and call Kimberly-Clark's customer service team at 1-888-255-3499 between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, for more information.

The recall doesn't affect Australia, as the Sleek tampon isn't sold here and none of the Australian products have been found to have any similar issues.
