Ajax's Frenkie De Jong agrees to join Paris Saint-Germain over Manchester City

Frenkie de Jong poised to move to Paris Saint Germain: Telegraaf

Now it appears he is going to miss out on another target - De Telegraaf are reporting that De Jong has chose to sign for PSG, in a deal worth €75 million.

De Jong is in particular a huge fan of City boss Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City may miss out on Ajax's Frenkie de Jong with reports that he has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain next summer.

While De Jong is focused on helping Ajax win their first Eredivisie title since 2014, the Netherlands worldwide revealed his admiration for City boss Pep Guardiola and his style of football.

De Jong also claimed he could learn a lot from players at either of the clubs that are interested in him.

The news coming out of the Netherlands late on Thursday night will come as a big blow to Manchester City and Barcelona, both of whom had targeted the prodigious 21-year-old.

However, De Jong's agent has said there is no transfer on the table and he is guaranteed to stay at Ajax until at least the summer.

"It would be great for Ajax, a huge compliment", the 48-year-old stated.

"Everything is still an option and we will see what happens".

De Jong took possession in the middle of the field and charged forward before slotting firing in from the edge of the box, taking his tally to two goals and one assist in 13 Eredivisie appearances.

"I can't be busy saying "I'm going there or there", as that would not show, for my part, any respect for Ajax and my teammates". I said to him as much, because he would be enormous for us. When you watch that, you get the feeling you want to go out on the pitch and play football with your friends and just enjoy yourself.
