From now through November 18th, BattleNet PC players can claim and keep a free copy of Destiny 2. Note that this is the base game, and doesn't include the "Forsaken" expansion which adds a new campaign to the title. Destiny 2 is also out on PS4 and Xbox One. Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg announced that Destiny 2 PC will be exclusive.
There's no doubting how much the Forsaken and 2.0 Update enhanced this title since its launch a year ago. Either way, you'll need to redeem the code through the official portal on the Destiny 2 page here.
"As Destiny fans, we were excited to learn that the sequel was coming to PC", said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment at the time.
If you already own Destiny 2 on PC, you obviously can't take advantage of this promotion, but Blizzard says Bungie is giving all existing owners of the game on PC "a special in-game emblem marking the game's anniversary that will be available in December".
PC users can download Destiny 2 for free today through November 18 and keep it forever.
Clearly, the idea is that you'll become invested enough in the base game to want to pay for the DLC.
Blizzcon kicked off, unexpectantly, with some Destiny 2 news.
