Brees breaks NFL's all-time passing yards record

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (9) warms up before a game against the Washington Redskins at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Following the dismantling of the Washington Redskins on the field, running back Alvin Kamara had his own powerful message in the locker room. Ingram also had two catches for 20 yards in his first game of 2018, following a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance enhancing drug policy. For the season, he's rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns on 60 carries. However, starting left guard Shaun Lauvao will miss the game with a calf injury - though how badly his impact will be felt remains to be seen, as some fans put blames for offensive miscues on Lauvao's shoulders.

"I don't know if that will ever sink in (surpassing all the greats) because I love playing the game", Brees said later. "I got back in there".

After the record was snapped, the party was on in New Orleans: The game was stopped as Saints players celebrated with Brees at midfield and his family came on the field.

First: ow, ow, ow, ow. That might be why he only lasted two plays into the second half. Is he being a little too optimistic about his return time?

On a night when quarterback Drew Brees became the NFL's passing king, the New Orleans Saints sent a statement to a national television audience that they should be considered serious contenders for the NFL throne as they throttled the Washington Redskins 43-19 on Monday, Oct. 8. Regardless of what Tuesday's MRI reveals, it wasn't the sort of homecoming Peterson anticipated.
