Delta Air Lines said Tuesday night that it was addressing a "technology issue" that affected "some" of its systems. Delta employees are now working diligently to accommodate customers whose travel plans have been affected.
Passengers are complaining on Delta's Twitter page, saying they can not sign in or access their boarding pass on the app.
"During the technology issue, Delta issued a mainline groundstop in the USA until systems could be brought back up. We apologize to all customers for this inconvenience", the statement said.
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport confirmed the outage but said that it is now only affecting Delta flights - despite Atlanta being a major hub for the airline.
The statement from Delta did not specify what the technology issue is. Delta said delays on Wednesday from the outage should be minimal. We are experiencing technical difficulties at this time. "We appreciate your continued patience".
Delta responded to customers that there was no estimated time for when the issue would be solved.
"Our computer tracking system is temporarily down".
