Sarri also refused to use Europa League fatigue as an excuse after Chelsea's ideal start to the season ended. While Chelsea lost their flawless record this weekend, Liverpool continued theirs with a thumping 3-0 win against Southampton and now sit top of the Premier League table on 18 points. It's very hard to play in the Europa League, but more hard in March and April, not now.

The gruelling Thursday-to-Sunday turnaround that comes with playing in the Europa League might already be taking its toll on Chelsea. In this period, it's not a big problem.

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has called for assistance on fixture scheduling to boost English clubs' chances in Europe.

We have played today and we have another match ahead of us.

But it is in defence that Sarri will have the most concern as he prepares to face Liverpool's formidable front line next weekend.

"I think we played a good tactical game as we allowed them to have the ball but near our box we defended well and we got our first clean sheet". Problems arrived against West Ham, and in the end a draw was the fairest outcome between two teams undermined by mistakes at both ends. "We played a good tactical game, defended well and created some chances".

But with about 13 minutes to go West Ham had a wonderful chance to win the match, when the unmarked Yarmolenko headed just wide at the far post after a cross by Robert Snodgrass.

Portuguese global Joao Moutinho is one of Mendes's many clients to arrive at Molineux and curled his first goal for the club into the top corner to earn a deserved point. Eden Hazard has let the way, notching five goals through five games.

Below are some of their reactions to the West Ham man's performance.

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored goals within three minutes of each other early in the second half at Emirates Stadium. Maybe spectacular but for us, difficult.

"I don't know. I want to speak with the doctor, but I think nothing serious".

"We needed two wingers".

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri confirmed after the game he is hopeful Rudiger will be back and available within three to four days.

Chelsea FC will then prepare to welcome Liverpool FC to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League next weekend as they look to bounce back to winning ways. Our live coverage lets you follow all the key moments as they happen.
