Despite not looking very sharp this season, Salah has three goals and two assists and has achieved the same number as he had by this stage last season.
Nevertheless, Salah did have the opportunity to take the stage and give a victory speech when he was declared the victor of the FIFA Puskas award.
"Mo Salah, Puskas award???".
At a star-studded gala night in London on Monday night, the FIFA FIFPro World XI 2018 was announced, with some big names missing out while there were some questionable inclusions on the other hand to leave fans baffled.
The Puskás Award is decided by a fan vote, who choose the best goal out of a shortlist of 10 picked by Federation Internationale de Football Association legends.
"But I'm very happy and very proud, thank you, everyone, who voted for me".
Salah was handed the gong for his curling strike against Merseyside rivals Everton though missed out on FIFA's The Best.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois won the goalkeeper of the year prize, beating Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel and Hugo Lloris of Tottenham Hotspur and World Cup-winning France.
