"I remember we were scrambling, and I maybe shot, and then he kind of pushed me over, and I rolled over my right knee, and I felt the pop, and I was like, 'There goes the right LCL - fantastic", Johnson said (via MMAJunkie). He was caught by another harsh right from Dillashaw which gave obvious jelly legs to Garbrandt.

But his former Team Alpha Male colleague was unsuccessful in his pursuit of reclaiming the title, suffering a second consecutive first-round KO loss. TJ is on the top of him, Garbrandt stands up but TJ Dillashaw delivers strong punches and puts him against the fence, delivering knees... Garbrandt a chance for redemption, Dillashaw a chance to close the rivalry for good.

Johnson has reigned as the only flyweight champion in UFC history since claiming the inaugural belt with a split decision victory over Joseph Benavidez at UFC 152, and takes a 14-fight unbeaten streak into Saturday night's bout at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"It wasn't like he blew me out of the water", Johnson at the post-fight press conference. When Dillashaw was told of Cejudo's challenge, he replied: "Henry Cejudo!". He now trains out of Los Angeles. I got a little excited when I should've slowed down and finished him, but I got the job done.

Dillashaw, who had previously been linked to a potential superfight with Johnson, said he was "disappointed" that Johnson lost Saturday. Cejudo earned a rematch thanks to two straight rebound victories and the utter lack of more compelling contenders for Johnson, who had been content to stay at flyweight instead of chasing bigger-money bouts at bantamweight, where he fought earlier in his career. I only said Brian Ortega's name because he is ranked number one but my goal is to be world champion and I think I have earned my opportunity.

According to Fightmetric, Dillashaw landed 34 of an attempted 62 strikes.

Dillashaw called Garbrandt's chin into question ahead of the rematch, but he held up well to the final onslaught. That's it, Herb Dean stops the fight!

"I knew I was gonna flip the script on him", Dillashaw said. I know he likes to play a risky game.

Garbrandt, a native of Uhrichsville, Ohio, went undefeated for four years before suffering his first loss to Dillashaw.
