After sending out - "Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon". He further added that the news anchor made the basketball star look smart.

"What I've noticed over the past few months, [is] he's kinda used sports to kinda divide us, and that's something that I can't relate to", James told Lemon.

On Saturday morning, Lemon offered a pointed response to Trump.

LeBron James has just opened up a school for underprivileged children in his hometown of Akron.

"Her platform centers around visiting organizations, hospitals and schools, and she would be open to visiting the I Promise School in Akron".

Don Lemon responded by saying, "Who's the real dummy?" He included a #BeBest hashtag.

James has said that Trump "doesn't understand the power that he has for being the leader of this handsome country".

LeBron's on-court rivals Golden State Warriors are in the same camp with him as they have not been to the White House during their back-to-back championship wins in 2017 and 2018. "I like Mike!" The last line was a vintage 1990s reference to National Basketball Association icon Michael Jordan, and another burn by the president of James, who had told Lemon that Trump was "using sports to kind of divide us". It's one of the more admirable charity initiatives in recent memory and has been lauded by people across the political spectrum.

James has always been critical of Trump. Afterward, Trump announced that neither team was invited. Lemon's interview with James only made direct mention of Trump at the end of the hour-long interview.

And if Trump was trying to drive a wedge between James and Jordan, he failed. But the two men also discussed politics.

That observation echoed Saturday.

LeBron James has come under fire from the USA president. "I think at times he uses black athletes (as scapegoats)". You know, actual humanitarian work.

CNN also responded to Trump on its public relations Twitter with a dig at Trump's claim that he never watches the network.

"Sounds like @FLOTUS had the remote last night", @CNNPR wrote.

"Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform", Grisham said. Trump tweeted his LeBron venom a day before making a trip to, you guessed it, Ohio.

The school had no immediate comment on Saturday.

Let's get back to the interview for a moment.
