In the interview, James criticized Trump for using sports to "divide" America, such as when he misrepresents athletes' kneeling during the National Anthem as a protest against America. Lemon nor James has responded to Trump's tweet.
At the end of the interview, Lemon asked if James, "What would you say to the president if he were sitting right here?" Mr. Trump also went after Lemon, calling him the "dumbest man on television".
It is unclear, but it is possible Trump's final line is referring to Michael Jordan, who is commonly compared to James as one of the greatest basketball players ever.
We could run through the laundry list of ways James has bettered his community through his charity work, including his new "IPromise" school.
Trump seemed to take issue with some of James' comments. CNN is also one of Mr. Trump's favorite foes.
James said he "can't sit back and say nothing".
Where does the aggression towards LeBron come from? The school opened with a group of third- and fourth-graders, but will expand to serve first through eighth grades by 2022.
"Walking these hallways and seeing, when I was driving here, just the streets that I walked, some of the stores are still up when I was growing up", James told ESPN. The institute will feature a non-traditional school year with greater access for the students to the school, it's facilities and it's teachers during their downtime.
