Victor of World's Ugliest Dog competition, Zsa Zsa, dies

Zsa Zsa, the 'World's Ugliest Dog,' dies

World's Ugliest Dog, Zsa Zsa the English bulldog, dies weeks after winning title

Zsa Zsa, the English bulldog who last month was crowned World's Ugliest Dog, has died. He says she appeared fine the day before, so it was a shock. She bested 13 other dogs to claim the top spot. "Sweetest dog I've ever met".

Brainard told the "Today" show's websote that the 9-year-old dog had been staying with her father. Her owner was awarded $1,500 for Zsa Zsa's win.

Even though Zsa Zsa gained fame as the World's Ugliest Dog - which resulted in press appearances like a June 25 Today show segment - she had humble beginnings.

On Tuesday, July 10 the World collectively wept for the loss of Zsa Zsa, a dog whose sheer hideousness was only surpassed by her big heart.

The nine-year-old English bulldog, whose lolling tongue and crooked underbite made her the victor back in June, died in her sleep, the post said.

'I picked Zsa Zsa up and took her outside and laid her down in the grass. We were all saying our goodbyes and Mareslie went right over and gave her a kiss.

"Her mother saw her handsome picture on pet finder and HAD TO HAVE HER!" The owner of the dog, Megan Brainard said that passing away of Zsa Zsa is devastating for him and the whole grieving process is very hard.

"She knew she was special", said Brainard. She said her family held a small memorial for the pooch, known to love Slim Jims and burritos from the Mexican fast-food chain Chipotle.
