We've asked OnePlus if there's any official news on a red edition of the phone, but we've yet to get a response. The company has taken to Twitter to tease the upcoming color launch, and even renowned reviewer Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) has jumped in on the fun.
OnePlus 6 Red Edition has been officially launched by the company.
OnePlus claims this layer, tied with a new film coating process, results in "a red that's more elegant, one that leaves a strong impression of quality and value".
The OnePlus 6 Red will be available in the 8GB + 256GB size next week, with sales starting on July 10th for $579-the same price as the current Black and Silk White colors of equivalent specification.
It may be all a big elaborate joke, but to us it looks like a teaser for a hands on video with the new phone, and it may be we see the channel known as MKBHD releasing a video to unveil the phone. OnePlus 6 Red is priced at Rs 39,999 in India and will be sold via Amazon India, OnePlus India online store, and the offline OnePlus stories.
While the wait isn't long, leaked images for the device have surfaced anyway. The smartphone like the other variants of OnePlus 6 is made with six panels of glass at the back. Considering how the image seems to reflect light in both pictures, OnePlus could call this option Mirror Red. Putting all of this together gives away that the OnePlus 6 red variant could be launched early next week. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned.
