Actor Guy Pearce has hinted that his LA Confidential co-star Kevin Spacey misbehaved with him on the film's set, calling him a "handsy guy". Asked by host Andrew Denton what that experience was like, given the allegations against Spacey, Pearce appeared visibly uncomfortable before answering.
After describing the accused sexual abuser as an "incredible actor", a reticent Pearce said he had a "slightly hard time" working with him. It gets worse, because Guy Pearce, another actor he worked with back in 1996, accused him of being "handsy".
Similar accounts of alleged misconduct were soon corroborated by other colleagues of Spacey's, including the "House of Cards" production crew, resulting in his firing from the hit Netflix show.
The first accusations against Spacey came to light last year when actor Anthony Rapp claimed that Spacey sexually assaulted him when he was only 14-years old.
Pearce claims Spacey behaved inappropriately during filming.
Spacey is now under investigation in both the United Kingdom and the US for a total of six sexual assault claims.
Three more men have come forward in London alleging they were sexually assaulted by Kevin Spacey, bringing the total number of accusers to six.
Spacey is also under investigation in CT and by the Los Angeles District Attorney's office for alleged sexual misconduct.
"I did not know honestly then the extent of his violence", Byrne told The Sunday Times.
Spacey then dropped the bombshell about his personal life, explaining: "This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life".
He added: "I now choose to live as a gay man".
Rapp detailed an alleged incident with Spacey in 1986 when Rapp was 14 years old, but Spacey said he didn't remember the alleged assault. Spacey has not commented on the allegations beyond his initial apology to Rapp.
