There is a new "Desert" biome and two new locations, Paradise Palms and Lazy Links. A drought has hit the area and now it looks like a desert. Dropping in there could be a death sentence for newer players and with Season 5 officially kicked off, it's going to be a hot zone for sure!

Like other challenges that task you with tracking down certain items, the Lightning Bolts can be found in various parts of the island.

Once you've collected all seven and completed the challenge, you will earn five Battle Stars, which will go toward ranking up your Season 5 Battle Pass.

Fortnite's treasure map challenges are back in Season 5 and week one asks you to follow the treasure map found in Risky Reels.

V5 introduces a new vehicle option called the ATK, or All Terrain Kart.

Those objects aren't the only things getting teleported - players can also take advantage of rifts and get zapped into the air to get a better look at the surrounding area and maybe get a drop on an enemy. Fans can check out Epic Games' full patch notes for season 5 online. The ATK also features a speed boost after drifting, the roof acting as a bounce pad and passengers in the back being able to help the driver leap over vehicles by leaning back and releasing. With the launch of a new season comes the launch of a new Battle Pass. What's more, you no longer have to complete all challenges within a single season; progressive challenges can be finished at your own pace. "You're in for a wild ride", writes Epic Games in the description of the rifts.

This time around, there are tons of new features for you to enjoy. Heavy shotguns have been given a 10 pellet magazine, instead of 5, and the ability to double pump has been reduced with the introduction of a shot delay.

There are more than simply what is shown in the image above, but you only need 7 to complete the challenge.

In 50v50 or 20v20 modes, you'll now get bonus XP up to three times per match for reviving teammates.
