During the on-stage demonstration of the new tools, Facebook was used as an example of a site asking to monitor user activity.
In iOS 12, the Photos app will now display search suggestions when a user is looking for a specific picture, based on things that appear in the photo, including cars, dogs and flowers.
Apple says that iOS 12 is created to make everyday tasks on iPhone and iPad faster and more responsive with performance improvements across the system. Apple's software chief Craig Federighi said that Facebook keeps watch over people in ways they might not be aware of.
An official release date has not been confirmed but, judging by previous releases, we can reasonably expect iOS 12 to come out in September this year.
"As a result your Mac will look more like everyone else's Mac, and it will be dramatically more hard for data companies to uniquely identify your device", Federighi explained.
Enhanced privacy was part of a slew of improvements touted by Apple to developers, whose creations are key to the popularity of iPhones, iPads and Mac computers. Information on users relationship status, religion and political tendency were among the list of the private data which had been made available over the agreement between these companies, the report said.
Yesterday Apple announced iOS 12 and eager users are already combing through the beta to see all the features Apple talked about and many they didn't mention.
New Do Not Disturb features limit what notifications users see on their lock screen at night and in the morning. "Well it turns out these can be used to track you, whether you click on them or not", Federighi said.
Earlier this week, a New York Times report claimed that Facebook and 60 other smartphone manufacturers have struck deals in order to retrieve user data like relationship status, religion and political leaning.
"The App Store has fundamentally changed the way we live".
Apple also said that iOS 12 will make older devices faster, more responsive and generally more efficient.
