As if the processor wasn't impressive enough, the leak also unveils that Xiaomi Mi 8's Snapdragon 845 CPU is paired with 6GB of RAM and a 128GB of internal storage space. The Mi Band 3 could launch at a price of Rs 1999 in India.
As per the earlier leaks regarding the new Mi Band, the tracker is expected to be fitted with a similar OLED panel just like the Mi Band 2 but with a likely bump in resolution. The event will take place on May 31 and the Company has already confirmed the same on its Twitter handle. Fresh information comes in the form of photos of the Mi 8 retail box and a poster.
Xiaomi's latest offering Xiaomi Mi 8, will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Facial Recognition features with Under Display Fingerprint Scanner In Special editions. That's a bold statement considering the Mi Mix 2S has one of the highest-rated systems on a smartphone, according to camera-ratings website DxOMark. Apart from that, the Mi Band 3 is expected to be IP67 rated for water and dust resistance and also have support for Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC.
Hardware specs of the Mi Band 3 are all but scarce as of the moment, but, ever since Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was allegedly spotted wearing one, it's being speculated that it would feature a slightly upgraded design.
Based on the reports, the Mi Band 3 is being manufactured with more durability than the previous counterparts. In terms of optics, the Mi 8 sports AI-equipped dual rear cameras featuring 20MP & 16MP sensors.
While it's not known whether Xiaomi will bring the Mi 8 to Indian shores, we expect the Mi Band 3 to launch sometime later this year to reaffirm the company's presence in the affordable wearable market.
