The Virginia Tech women's golf team posted a three-day total of 888 and finished in 10 place at the 2018 NCAA Austin Regional on Wednesday afternoon.
North Carolina finished the day at 1-over and is tied for seventh in the San Francisco regional.
Head coach Michael Carlisle's team shot 16-over par, 300, at the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Baylor (+5) trails only No. 3 Arkansas (-21), No. 8 Texas (-10) and No. 14 Florida (+2). "We made some birdies on the first few holes and played pretty solid through nine".
Seniors Lexi Harkins and Becky Klongland both shot 1-over par 73s and are tied for 26th place.
Emily Israelson, a senior from Staples Minn.is now tied for 10th place after shooting a 2-over (74) round one.
Senior Nattapan Siritrai fired a 6-over-par 78 to round out the scoring for the Cyclones.

Maddie Szeryk of Texas A&M leads the field after a 4-under-par 68.
Kaur also led the team and tied for fourth in the tournament with 11 birdies. Redding improved to 18th place at even-par 216.
Chanachai opened the day with a birdie on her second hole at 11 and then followed up with a birdie on the second hole of the front-nine.
Martin remains in contention for another strong individual finish at an NCAA Regional, sitting tied for ninth place at two-under par, 72-70=142, after 36 holes.
We got off to a slow start and Florida State jumped out ahead of us early on. "From 3 o'clock in the morning until we got to the tee, that was about the only thing I was thinking about that was going to happen".
Freshman Yurika Tanida had the best round of her career with an even-par 72. And Gurleen (Kaur), our other freshman, has just been a superstar this week. "Coming down the stretch, when they knew they might be on the bubble, they finished with a lot of birdies and showed what type of players and competitors they are".
"I could not be more proud of Nicole for coming out on top", Shockley said. Amy Lee played an awesome round of golf today. A trio of players are tied for third with a score of 69.
Sharp started her round by birdying three of the first five holes.
