Realme, a sub-brand of OPPO, has launched its new smartphone the, Realme 1, today at an event in New Delhi.

OPPO is positioning the Realme 1 as a device that delivers on both price as well as quality, touting the fact that each phone goes through 18 quality tests for the motherboard, more than 100,000 drop tests, and multiple humidity and temperature tests. Speaking of the launch, T L Lee, General Manager, Wireless Communication Business, MediaTek, said: "With Realme, our intention is to evolve the current Indian online smartphone market by offering Premium-mid range smartphones that deliver a delightful user experience". Sale starts 12 noon on Amazon.in.

The new phone will be up against the popular Redmi Note 5 Pro, Huawei P20 Lite, and Motorola Moto G5 series, among others. It is powered by Octa Core MediaTek Helio P60 12nm processor which is claimed to improve the speed by upto 50% and also help in controlling temperature of the phone. The device also has an AI-based computing engine for some awesome picture expereince.

The Realme 1 has been launched exclusively on Amazon India. That's for the 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage model and the price for the 4 GB RAM+64 GB model is Rs. 10,990 and 6 GB RAM model with 128 GB storage is Rs 13,990. The handset arrives as one of the most affordable Android smartphones with 6GB of RAM. The company says the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variants will come to India a month later. The 8,990 INR/13,990 INR device will be available in diamond back color and Solar red, which is a full metal unibody design.

The Oppo Realme 1 has finally been unveiled in India, after creating a significant amount of buzz for the Diamond Pattern back. The Realme 1 is a dual-SIM smartphone with hybrid SIM slot that also supports expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD card slot.

The phone lacks fingerprint sensor, so you'll have to rely on face unlock and passcode. You will also receive a free case and screen protector bundled inside the package. It is powered by a 3410mAh battery. The phone supports dual 4G VoLTE along with the usual set of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Global Positioning System.

The Realme 1 comes with a single 13 MP rear shooter.
