"It means so much, it's actually like a dream", Moore told Golf Channel. On the edge of the 17th green, about 22 feet from the hole, she only needed a two-putt to win the hole. Gillman followed on 17 with a 3-and-1 win over Amelia Garvey. Moore squared off with Alabama's Lakareber Abe in what would end up being a dramatic finish. Pagdanganan, the final Wildcat on the course that day, poured in a 25-foot eagle putt at No.18 to get Arizona into a playoff that they ultimately won. She had two putts to win No. 16, which would have cut her deficit against Sandra Nordaas to one. Hou dropped the first hole but went on a tear on the back nine, turning an all-square match through nine holes into a four-hole lead after 13. Abe's just missed outside the hole, setting the stage for Moore to roll in the clinching putt. However, Abe quickly answered by winning three consecutive holes to rally for a 1-up lead after 12 holes. The Italian freshman hit her first putt well beyond the hole, leaving her unable to connect on the second attempt. "That is the main thing in match play, make it hard for him - don't make any mistakes, play pars and birdies and you will be a really tough guy to beat".
For all the marbles, Moore would stroke a flawless cup that would find the center of the cup. The Wildcats advanced on the second playoff hole.
"We're familiar with the course, not only in 2003, but we had a Ping Preview there in 2010 and the NCAAs were there in 2011 and we had the regional there, so I've got all the hole location sheets, all the yardage books, and the course hasn't changed other than just a few more added tees", Penley said. Knight made par to take the point for Alabama. "It was unbelievable. Going into this hole I had no idea where we were at". It was all downhill and faster closer to the hole. And it fell in.
Arizona reached the championship match on the strength of upsets of top-seeded UCLA (3-2) in the quarterfinals and fifth-seeded Stanford (4-1) in the semifinals. I'm glad that it happened. Hou drew Lauren Stephenson, Alabama's best player, but got a huge point for the team with her 4-and-3 victory.

"I think we've got a chance to, even right out of the gates, have a really special championship and another great competitive opportunity and a great way to use those three days of competition".
Once in the match play portion of the championship, Arizona kept its momentum rolling. The best finish in program history came in 1994 with a tie for seventh overall. The Wildcats first brought the title trophy back to Tucson in 1996. Ianello said. "I'm not going to lie".
"If our team goes down there and plays well, we definitely have the team to do it", McMakin said. And so when we got here, getting through Regionals can be a bear. I think what we've found and what everybody will agree that's on the broadcast, you never know which match is going to matter. However, OU reserved its spot among golf's elite programs last season when it won the national championship at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
