There is no official confirmation that Israeli missiles hit Iranian military positions in Syria a second time this month.

"Some military sites in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo provinces were exposed at 10.30pm to a new aggression with hostile rockets", a military source told Syrian Arab News Agency. At 10:40 pm, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported the equivalent of a magnitude-2.6 quake around 10 miles from Hama. Over 18 people were killed and another 60 were wounded, Sky News Arabia reported citing regime media.

The US, UK and French missile strikes on Syria earlier in April will "only increase the Syrians' determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms, and uphold their sovereignty and their right to shape their own future", Syrian President Bashar Assad said, as he accepted a top Iranian MP in Damascus. The missiles targeted buildings and centers which likely include a weapons depot, ISNA reported.

In Iran, there were conflicting reports on the casualties and on whether Iranian assets were struck. Also, on April 28, the Syrian army is reported to have liberated areas in southern Damascus from Islamic State militants.

The Syrian Observatory said at least 26 people were killed, four of them Syrians.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem al-Quds on Sunday, saying Washington stands with Tel Aviv against Tehran.

This is not the best time for Iran to try to attack Israel, with the Trump administration decision on the Iran nuclear deal just weeks away.

As a result of rocket Israeli attack on arms depots of the Syrian army in the provinces of Hama and Aleppo destroyed a factory for the production of missiles.

Lieberman's statements come less than a month after Israeli warplanes attacked the T-4 air base in Homs through Lebanese airspace and his threat later to hit S-300 defense systems if Russian Federation gave them to Syria.

There was also no immediate comment from Israel, which rarely confirms or denies its attacks in Israel.

"It seems as if it's an Israeli strike". The Minister of Strategic Affairs, Israel Katz, said Monday to army Radio that he was not aware of facts.

He also called on Iranian officials to act wisely in response to the developments in Syria and avoid giving an excuse to Israel for creating tension between the sides in Syria.

An increasing number of media organizations associated with the Syrian regime and Hezbollah are hinting that Israel was responsible.

"Israel is committed to enforcing and holding its red lines", Oren said.
