"Before everything we are friends" - Mohamed Salah highlights Jurgen Klopp relationship

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Golden Boot victor Mohamed Salah has room for improvement after his record-breaking Premier League campaign.

The Egypt global claimed the Golden Boot, adding to numerous individual honours he has already won this season, including the PFA Players' Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year.

Mohamed Salah scored one of the goals, taking the Egyptian to a league-high 32 goals for the campaign - the most in a 38-game Premier League season.

Firmino has been instrumental to Jurgen Klopp's style of play this season, helping the Reds finish fourth in the Premier League, while also playing a key role in the Anfield club's journey to the Champions League final.

Earlier, Salah was also named in the 2017-18 Professional Footballers Association Team of the Year and bagged Professional Footballers Association Players' Player of the Year award.

"But then we saw that same intensity when Real played Celta on Saturday; that's why this game seems like a coin flicked in the air for me".

The 25-year-old Egypt global scored his 32nd league goal of the season as Liverpool wound up their campaign with a 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

At the other end of the table, Swansea's seven-season stay in the Premier League came to an end as they were relegated to the Championship after a 2-1 defeat by Stoke.

And Shearer believes Liverpool's improvement at the back has led them to a successful second half of the season that could end with a Champions League trophy later this month.

'To be fair it's hard to not think about it because everyone is talking about the final, ' he said. "I think especially the last few weeks were really hard".

"That is for us like a little pre-season to the game".

"They don't only say you're brilliant, they give an Oscar, and an award for this, award for that". But what he is, in his mind, is a real goal-getter. I am very proud to win it'. "So it's really hard to stay focused, and he is focused".
