With Mother's Day coming up on May 13, you may find yourself pondering what it actually means to be a mother.
This is not the first time Apple's Siri, which many consider to be inferior to other digital assistants such as Amazon's Alexa or Google's Assistant, has said expletives when asked for a response. But things got weird once users asked it for the second definition. It's amusing that Siri would use the curse word and at the same time would request you not to hurl vulgarities at the AI.
We tried our hand at the trick by asking Siri to "define mother" and "define the word mother", but this resulted in a long written response without any follow-up questions.
The problem with asking Siri to define the word mother stems from the fact that it is pulling the definition from the Oxford Dictionary - a trusted source, but also one that offers the "motherf*cker" definition as the secondary meaning for the word "mother".
Apple assistant Siri will curse if you ask her for a second definition of the word mother, users began to report in Reddit's Apple community on Saturday.
According to Gizmodo, Sheryl Brahnam, a faculty member in Missouri State University's Computer Information System Department, somewhere between 10 to 50 percent of human interactions with AI are abusive.
Apple has not responded as yet to the the discovery and you can be assured that the company will fix this once it hears of it.
