Manzoor Ahmad Bhat (25), son of Abdul Gaffar Bhat, was found headless at an orchard falling in Bonmohalla Hajin today morning.

Jammu and Kashmir Police spokesperson confirmed the development and said, "The youth was brutally murdered by Lashkar-e-Taiba militants". The deceased, Manzoor Ahmad, and his father had been kidnapped by the terrorists. The body of Muntazir Ahmed, who was abducted on April 3, was recovered in an orchard a day later, said the police.

"The victim's father somehow managed to escape from the militants".

According to police records, this is the second incident in a week's time, when militants have attacked civilians in Bandipora district's Hajin area. The injured was rushed to local hospital from where he was later referred to Srinagar. Manzoor and his father were on Wednesday abducted by Lashkar militants.

"Exhibiting its brand of brutality, the terrorists have left the body headless", tweeted Kashmir Zone Police. Families are being targeted by terrorists after being tagged as informers of the security forces in order to spread fear in the Valley and discourage them from alerting security forces of insurgency in the Valley. Moreover, reports suggest that a local terrorist, Mohommad Saleem Parrey has a major role in killing the 24-year-old.

So far, police have identified the militants as - Abu Muslim, Hubaib, Khalid, Abu Hamza and Haider.
